This stately life-like wooden horse is a takaan, a hand carved sculpture used as a mold for the craft of taka. A traditional art form originating in Paete, Laguna, Philippines, the craft involves layering paper strips over the takaan, then hand painting the papier-mâché figures. A must have rarity for the vintage collector in your circle.
