A beautiful example of Filipino folk art, this lifelike friend is a takaan, a wooden sculpture used as a mold for the craft of taka, traditional art form originating in Paete, Laguna, Philippines. The craft involves layering paper strips over the takaan. The papier-mâché figures are then hand painted. A must have for the vintage collector in your circle.
