Wooden Crescent Moon Takaan Sculpture
Wooden Crescent Moon Takaan Sculpture
Usher a bit of magic into your space with this intricate hand carved crescent moon. A beautiful example of Filipino folk art, this piece is a takaan, a wooden sculpture used as a mold for the craft of taka. A traditional art form originating in Paete, Laguna, Philippines, the craft involves layering paper strips over the takaan. Often a reflection of the local environment and culture, these papier-mâché figures are then hand painted. A must have for the vintage collector or mystic in your orbit.
